My experiment

After coming back from Hyden I decided to do an experiment with how many layers of different elements you could get away with before it got to much. My started with cardstock then added a layer of paint, a layer of fabric, then some easter egg foils, a layer of loose weave fabric stuff then matted photos the centre one has a journalling pocket then finally the lettering which came to a grand total of 8 layers and I reckon it doesn't look too bad either

Westminster Abbey

A double page layout of Westminster Abbey, that I visited late last year! There were several photos taken of parts of the building and surrounds and then pieced together to form this image!

My Mum

Another of Gayle's layouts. This one required many layers, but has come out beautifully!

Campdraft

One of Gayle Smith's layouts from the Hyden Retreat! Photos are of Scott at the recent Munglinup Campdraft!

Oldie but a Goodie

I scraplifted this layout from an old magazine that I borrowed from Dee that she picked up from a garage sale.
I have found of late that I start a layout and part way through I find myself thinking of other photos and other colour schemes that would look better abd so I end up doing 2 hence the second one sometime I even do a third or a fourth....

Thanks for the bloglines tip Gayle have signed up its great!!!

On a roll

I had this variation of Lis Cassey layout in my head from the very first time I laid eyes on the class requirements and her examples and the reason I ordered the scalloped papers from Karen. I have finally made the idea reality..
The photos are of my climbing the Sydney Harbour Bridge on my birthday this year!!

You hold the key to my heart

This is 1 of the 3 UFO... It is a variation to Gayles layering layout that she taught at Hyden.I have added a piece of fabric underneath the main photo (the zigzag edged piece) which hides a pocket for journalling.I am very happy with this layout

So not my usual style

I have about 3 layouts in varying stages of completion but seem to be taking forever to finish. I did do this one however which I started out with lis casseys half circle layout but I kept taking bits off until I ended up with this... anyone who knows my usual style will be wondering where all the ribbons and embellishments are but I like it I have seen layouts with nothing on them and I liked them but I think the photos are the important thing with this one. I decided last year I wanted to climb the harbour bridge for my birthday this year and it happened here we are on top off the harbour bridge watching the sun go down on my birthday it was awesome

Last nights efforts

I didn't stay up as late last night as I thought I might but I did get the layout done that I mentioned previously and I started a 4th version of the same thing but discovered I have no good quality photo paper left so it will have to wait till I go to town next before I can finish that one. I think the boyish papers worked out quite well and I am happy with it.

I am off camping now but am looking forward to getting back into it

Best Easter Ever

The boys have gone camping the kids or off to Matthews and although I still have the 2 little ones I have been scrapping my little heart out completing unfinished retreat layouts and doing more of the same. Last night I stayed up till 1am and I will probably do something similar tonight, following is some of what I achieved after I cleaned everything up from Hyden.
I will probably go down camping on Sunday, but until then I will be home Scrappin'

More from the retreat

This was Gayles Layering class I mentioned earlier. I just had to get this years school phots to add in this year. I love this layout I am in the process of trying to select 5 papers to do one for Alex its harder to pick boys papers

My Little Village

This was the off the page project with Sharon Manning. I really enjoyed this class. I know some wilkl think they are dust collectors but they are my dust collectors and they sit in on of my cubes in my scrapping space. I bought the big one at the back from Karen separeate I didn't want to put them on till I had finished them all

Family Love

This is one of the five layouts completed at the Hyden Retreat! This one was taught by Gayle Smith. We used the Cricut machine for this layout to cut the String of Hearts and journalling block etc. The photo is of our friend, Gladys with all her family around her for her party!

Gladys's 80th Birthday Party

A 3D Effects layout, taught by Gayle Smith!
Wow this was fun to do, with about 5 different layers, using card, patterned papers, cardstock and lots of embellies, strips, lace and flowers! I am going to get this one framed and give it to our good friend Gladys. She turned Eighty years old last month!!!

A Day At The Park!

I loved this layout, taught to us by Sharon Manning! It was a bit tricky trying to get all the squares 2.5x2.5 inches and then to get them all to fit together neatly! Used lots of photos in this one too!

Playtime - Hyden Retreat

Another layout taught by Lis Cassey. I like how this one turned out, and a good way to use lots of photos! The papers weren't the ones I ordered, but I think what Karen picked for me went perfectly with the photos!

Karri Forest Layout - Hyden Retreat

A layout taught to us by Lis Cassey at the retreat!

Hyden Retreat March 2009 - Belinda's Layouts

This double layout was the first class taught at the retreat by Lis Cassey I managed to get 2 of these completed. I was proud of myself for getting Shannyns' athletics medal photos scrapped so quickly they were only 3 days old..

This layout was one I did in my spare time on Friday evening after getting photos printed and ready for classes the following day

Lis Casseys class

I liked this double layout alot so much so I did 2 versions of the same thing it is amazing that they look so different. It was a bit more fiddly than something I would normally do but that is only because I don't have time to fiddle at home

Sharon Mannings Classes

Sharon taught how to make these really cute off the page house which I will put on the blog later as I have one more I wish to complete
This double layout is a variation of the one sharon taught I used it to put all my random photos of a recent trip to Sydney it is fantastic for that sort of thing and my new 2" square punch made it so easy to put together

Gayles layering class

Gayle taught 2 layering classes but I only got a much needed photo for the other one from school yesterday.
Anyway it was this class that has finally convinced me that I can no longer deny myself I do indded need to spend all that money on a cricut..... thanks Gayle...don't tell Deon

Gayles 1st Layering class

It was this class that has finally convinced me that I can't live without it and I do indeed need to spend all that money on a cricut (Don't tell Deon)....

Gayle also taught another layering class that I still need to add another photo to which I got from school yesterday so when I have finished I will put it on
